I hold a medical degree M.D., a Master of Public Health and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in public health at the University of South Florida College of Public Health. I am a mixed-method socio-behavior scientist whose objective is to contribute to science by informing maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health programs with a focus on adolescent health, unintended pregnancy, and STI prevention while engaging the community through community-based participatory research.

 

My primary research examines and measures quantitatively and qualitatively sexual and reproductive knowledge, perceptions, attitudes and at-risk behaviors among minority women, adolescents, and youth with a focus on unintended pregnancy, contraceptive use, maternal health outcomes. 

 

My secondary research uses social marketing and health communication techniques to prevent cancer.

I am particularly driven by translational research and implementation science with implications for advocacy, programs, policy, and behavior change. My clinical background, experience in both Africa and the United States, and my ability to collaborate across disciplines are my main assets.
